What Kibo Does
Kibo is an AI-powered Document and Data Intelligence platform designed to solve the "unsolvable" 20% of document processing. While traditional IDP systems excel at clean, digital-first documents, Kibo is purpose-built for the Real-World Edge Cases: messy handwriting, low-quality scans, inconsistent legacy forms, and mixed-language content.
Kibo transforms unstructured content into structured, actionable intelligence across 60+ global languages. By bridging the gap between raw information and business action, Kibo enables organizations to digitize, understand, and automate workflows that were previously considered "too complex" for machines to handle.
Kibo’s Core Capability Framework: The AI2 Model
We don't just "read" documents; we operationalize the data within them through our proprietary four-step framework:
Access: Unlock information trapped inside printed text, messy handwriting, audio, and video content. Kibo makes the "invisible" visible, converting real-world content into machine-readable data.
Integrate: We don't believe in data silos. Kibo’s intelligence plugs directly into your existing ecosystem-CRMs, ERPs, Banking Systems, and Government databases-via enterprise-grade APIs.
Automate: Shift from manual data entry to cognitive process automation. Kibo handles high-volume tasks like Claims Processing, KYC Onboarding, and Medical Record Abstraction with deterministic accuracy.
Improve: Move the needle on core business metrics. By reducing human dependency in high-volume environments, Kibo delivers faster turnaround times (from days to minutes), lower operational costs, and 100% auditability through explainable AI.
The Story Behind Kibo: From Assistive Roots to Enterprise Intelligence
The story of Trestle Labs is a journey of solving for the extreme to benefit the mainstream. In 2017, our co-founders Akshita Sachdeva and Bonny Dave started with a simple, human question: What happens to people who cannot access written information?
During their engineering years, they saw the limitations of existing technology. Akshita began by building a reading glove for the blind, while Bonny developed faster ways to produce Braille books. Their "Aha!" moment came at Digital Impact Square (DISQ), where they met a student who had to wait weeks for a textbook to be recorded into audio.
This challenge became our AI's training ground. To help that student, our founders couldn't just build a standard OCR; they had to build an AI that could understand context, language nuances, and the "noise" of real-world documents (handwriting, poor lighting, crumpled paper).
The Evolution:
As we perfected this "Human-Like" understanding for the visually impaired, we realized that global enterprises and governments were facing the exact same problem. They were "blind" to the data trapped in their millions of handwritten forms, legacy archives, and multilingual records.
Following our appearance on Shark Tank India Season 3, we accelerated our evolution. Today, Kibo is no longer just an assistive tool; it is a Cognitive Process Automation platform. We have taken the empathy and precision required for assistive technology and scaled it to meet the rigors of BFSI, Healthcare, and Government digitization.
The Bigger Picture:
Today, Kibo sits at the intersection of AI, Accessibility, and Automation. We believe that information-regardless of its format, language, or medium-should be understood, accessed, and acted upon. Whether we are helping a visually impaired student study for an exam or an insurance company process a handwritten claim, our mission remains the same: Unlocking the world's knowledge and putting it to work.
